An early photo (above) of the final hull lines of the type "A" under test at the Admiralty test tank. This image is thought to have been taken very late '40s or early 1950.

The Burmese T203 loading on the heavy lift ship SS Benwyvis at Southampton
for the long voyage to Rangoon, Burma (T201 having earlier been shipped aboard SS
Benalbanach at Weymouth) .

Three 'Darks' on an evening patrol. The latter is very evocative in a large format as the
exhaust haze from the squadron can be clearly seen, while the wash from the
photographers craft really does look 'wet'.

Below are 3 pictures of HMCN Bras d'Or, an experimental craft commisioned by the Royal Canadian Navy but has, as can be seen from her hull lines, an obvious lineage from the Admiralty Type A craft known as the 'Dark' class. She was launched by Mrs Hartley Zimmerman, wife of the Chairman of the Defence Research Board of Canada and apart from the obvious hyrdofoil attachments, she was powered by two Rolls Royce Marine 'Griffon' engines.
