Engines replaced 1998- now 2 Volvo Penta 235HP engines which take much less room (approx 2,000 hours each).
There is a proper walkway through the engine room through to the saloon and at one end of the engine room we have built a modern galley. What was the seamans bunk area is now a double bedroom and the original captain's cabin is now a shower room/ wardrobe area.
You will appreciate that we have attempted to convert the boat into a liveaboard. She is lying at anchor on the River Guadiano which is the border between Spain and Portugal; we were obliged to move her from her moorings at Gibraltar because they had increased in excess of 1,000 GBP per month, an exorbitant amount which excluded electricity and water. |
