We think she is an ex Ships fast motor boat, possibly from a Royal Navy cruiser, built around 1950, re-engined with twin Humber 6 cylinder petrol engines, she has fore and aft cabins with a central cockpit.
Strongly constructed with integral lifting eyes to allow her to be rapidly craned on and of the "mother ship"!
Specification below, all sizes etc are approximate.
Length: 30ft, (9.14m)
Width: 6ft, (1.86m)
Number of berths: Could accommodate 4 berths
Construction: Wood, Diagonal bottom, re-planked topsides. Superstructure and hull sheathed in grp.
Machinery: Twin Humber 6 cyl petrol engines, with fresh water cooling, fitted with Borg Warner Velvet drives, shafts and rudders fitted.
She requires full restoration, engines have not been run for by me and have probably not been started for years, no props, no engine controls but steering gear is still present, the boat has been out of the water for many years and has suffered the ravages of rain etc. |
