HDML 1301. Gibel-Tank SOLD!

A beautifully restored HDML, located in Gibraltar. She has 2 x Gardner 8L3 each rated at 150HP at 900rpm. Fuel consumption is 12L/hr per engine at cruising speed (670rpm) and a total fuel capacity from all 6 tanks of 2400L. Boat weight approximatelt 45tonnes. Boat speed 9 knots cruising and 12 knots full speed.

HMS MEDA
The MEDA was a Harbour Defence Motor Launch converted for inshore survey work. Originally number 1301, and built in Bideford in 1943, she took part in the Salerno landing in September 1943 and was in action at Elab (Op Brassard) in June 1944. She was powered by Gardner diesels and had a speed of between 11 and 12.5 knots. In 1949 she relieved the GULNARE on South Coast Survey operations. She was sold in May 1966. (Author's Collection)
