BLUE PETER - Military fast launch Derby Class 1940.

One of 7 remaining of an original 21 built on the Isle of Wight in 1940. Launched as "Blue Peter", a Derby Class craft. (Blue Peter being the last horse to win the derby before the 2nd world war) The craft is 48ft by 13½ft beam with 6ft headroom above throughout. The boat is a double diagonal full planing hull with very dry bilges. She has a shallow draught of approx 33 inches.

She has just finished a 7 year renovation project eg: new ribs / stringers throughout the boat etc. She has many original features - too many to list, eg: original brass window boxes compass plus loads more. Inside  she has been brought into more modern times but kept in the 40s style eg: hand made mahogany furnishings, veneers, brass work etc. She has an open air cockpit aft with a canopy and seats for 6 people.

The engine room sports twin original Perkins SM6's with low hours and sleeps 2 people on cabin beds over the engines. The beds fully collapse if work is required on the engines.

"Blue Peter" will make an ideal "live aboard". She has a spacious ward room with two new 7ft deep buttoned settees. Polished mahogany walls and ceilings with original brass light fittings etc.

The bridge is off the open plan style ward room which makes it a nice size room. There is  also a cabin bed amidships with lots of storage further forward.

The Captains cabin has a double bed with lots of storage and all hardwood handmade furnishings veneer work and much original brassware. There is a compact galley with a fridge, 3 ring cooker, new hot water boiler etc. There is also a small shower room and heads.

She has 12v  24v  240 and 110 electrics. Propex air blow heating plus lots of sockets. A music system is provided throughout boat. All work has been carried out by tradesmen with quality materials .
